The Senran Kagura series is a long running videogame franchise centered around the merry misadventures of ninjas. However, most people are more interested in some of the franchises more unique mechanics. Therefore, we will try and express Senran Kagura Series in a nutshell.
The Basic Premise
There once was a bunch of ninjas that were girls and shinobi. Often, these shinobi ninja girls would fight each other in solo and team battles, with the aim to win the fight. In the original game, two rivals, Asuka and Homura battle throughout. Asuka is from Hanzo Academy, while Homura is from Hibi Girls Academy. The two academies have different mentalities. Hanzo Academy is a good ninja school that has the students do spying. On the other end, Hibi Girls Academy is more of a school for bad ninjas that carry out assassinations. The main mechanic is that the more damage you cause, the more layers of clothes come off. At the same time, the more damage you take, the more layers of clothes come off. There are many acquirable costumes. The costumes are acquirable as the game progresses. Hair color and accessories are also changeable, allowing for customization.
Why People Like Senran Kagura Franchise
This franchise boasts a physics engine for the girl’s chests. Since this game contains a lot of fan service, a vast majority of the characters have larger sized chests. Because of this, the physics engine for Senran Kagura 2 had the most difficulty rendering physics for the girls with smaller chests. This is due to how the engine was designed for the majority of the characters that have larger chests. With over a million copies sold, this franchise has many different games in the series.
