How Do I Get Back Home?
Home is the place that you always come back to. Every day functional human beings leave home for a variety of reasons. Yet, people usually need to get back home. This can sometimes be difficult for people. So how do I get back home?
Where is it Located
The first thing you need to know is where your home is. Start large and work your way smaller. What country do you live in? Which state? What City? Finally, on which road do you live on if any? It is important to understand these simple facts. By knowing them, you can determine the general location of your home. If you know where it is, you can find a way to get to it. If you happen to live in a complex of many units, such as a condo or an apartment, you will also need to know which unit is your own. The last thing you want to do is show up to someone else’s home uninvited. Tools including Google Maps can help you get directions back to your home.
Knowing where you live is typically a no-brainer. Yet, there are conditions where people have difficulty remembering where they live. It is not uncommon for people with certain medical conditions including Alzheimer’s, to forget where they live. There are also people with other disabilities who have memory difficulties. When someone has difficulty remembering their home address, there are some simple solutions. You could have the address written down and carry it with you at all times in case you forget. Another option is to make it part of your cellphone’s lock screen. If you do happen to forget, you or someone else could look at your phone and know where to go.
Getting Back Home By Foot
There are many possibilities for transport. The time-honored and traditional method of walking is the most cost-effective but time-consuming of the methods of transport. Yet, walking miles each day, especially in certain climate types, is not practical. A better solution would be a bicycle. If you have decent balance, you can pedal your way back home. It is both faster and less tiring than walking. But, the seats can be uncomfortable. You also open yourself up to the theft of your bike. The climate could also make it impractical. There are few things worse than trying to bicycle on ice or in hundred-degree temperatures.
Getting Back Home By Motor Vehicle
Buying a motorcycle is more expensive, but faster and more practical for long distances. A motorcycle is a bike with a motor. Because of the motor, you can move faster than on a bike and for extended periods. But, you will now incur the repeating costs of insurance and gas. Motorcycles are pretty fuel-efficient. While motorcycles are an improvement compared to bicycles, you will still be exposed to the weather.
The most common method of transport is the car. Cars operate similarly to motorcycles. Yet, they are enclosed so they can protect you from external harsh environments. Furthermore, you now have the ability to bring others with you in the same vehicle. Be warned though, cars will use more gas due to the cars increased mass, increasing the amount of energy necessary to propel the vehicle forward.
Getting Back Home By Plane
If you happen to find yourself farther away than you could drive in a reasonable amount of time, you should consider air travel. There are many commercial airlines nowadays. A few include Alaska and Southwest airlines. Utilizing an airplane requires getting to an airport and getting a ticket to where you need to go. The tickets are expensive. Tickets will rise in price with greater distances. The price also increases the closer you buy the ticket to the departure date. You are also limited by the location of airports around the world. It is likely that you would need to find another means of transport once you fly closer to your destination.
Getting Back Home By Boat and Train
Some other methods of transport, that are still used but aren’t conducive to fast transport, include by boat and train. Many countries have extensive rail systems developed to transport cargo around the country. These are used to transport slow-moving freight long distances overland. Yet, you can take passenger cars to your destination. This is akin to taking a plane but will take much longer. This is due to how trains transverse long distances over land. Boats are like trains on water. They can be used to transport passengers, but they are more commonly used for international trade between countries.
Third-Party Services
Nowadays, there are services that can help get you where you need to go locally as well. Uber and Lyft are services that you can use to hitch a ride from a stranger for a small fee. To make a comparison, they are like a taxi service, but without your driver being licensed to be a taxi. I would advise caution using such services. There have been incidents of abuse in the past by drivers.
You Have Made It Back Home
Once you got back to the location of your home, all that’s left is to get back inside. If you live in a complex with many units, make your way to the right one. Usually, to get into the domicile, people tend to use doors. People also tend to lock the doors behind them. Thus, a key will be necessary to get in. If you do not have a key, you could try and contact someone who does or get let in by someone already inside. If that all fails, you could call a locksmith and they can pick the lock and let you inside. Once you are inside, lock the door behind you.
Congratulation Your Back Home
