This phenomenal franchise consists of many games including but not limited to Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1-3, Megadimension Neptunia, and Cyberdimension Neptunia: Four Goddesses Online. In terms of gameplay on PC, since it is a console port, playing with a controller is optimal.

The Characters are Important

Trying to Explain the Neptunia Franchise is easier if you look at character personifications. The premise is that each character personifies a console. For example, there are four main characters called Console Patron Units (CPUs). Neptune represents Sega Neptune. Noire represents PlayStation 3. Blanc represents Wii. Vert represents Xbox. Each of these characters are goddesses that rule over their respective land, Neptune rules over Planeptune, Noire rules over Lastation, Blanc rules over Lowee, and Vert rules over Leanbox. Furthermore, each of these goddesses has a Hard Drive Divinity (HDD) mode. In this mode, Neptune becomes Purple Heart, Noire becomes Black Heart, Blanc becomes White Heart, and Vert becomes Green Heart.

There are also CPU candidates that are the younger sisters of the main four CPUs, they represent portable console handheld devices. Nepgear is the sister of Neptune that represents Sega Game Gear. Uni is the sister of Noire that represents the Universal Media Disk that is utilized in the PlayStation Portable. Rom and Ram are twins that are sisters to Blanc. Rom represents the read-only memory of the Nintendo DS, while Ram represents the random-access memory of the Nintendo DS.

There are other CPUs that include Plutia, Peashy, and Uzume Tennouboushi. The HDD form of Plutia is Iris Heart, Peashy is Yellow Heart, and Uzume is Orange Heart. Plutia represents the Sega Plutia, Peashy represents the Turbogafx-16 PC Engine, and Uzume represents the Sega Dreamcast. Megadimension Neptunia introduces characters with a “Gold Form” called S-Sha, B-Sha, K-Sha, and C-Sha. S-Sha represents Square Enix, B-Sha represents Bandai Namco, K-Sha represents Konami, and C-Sha represents Capcom.
